Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon met with the president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development(EBRD), Suma Chakrabarti, and has promised to cooperate on the international organization’s efforts to counter global warming.

During a meeting in Seoul on Monday, Kim spoke highly of the EBRD’s leading activities against climate change through partnerships with other related global organizations, including the Incheon-based Green Climate Fund.

He said the South Korean government will help build a triangular cooperation system with the EBRD and the GCF to combat climate change.

Kim also emphasized financial support for the EBRD’s major initiatives with an annual contribution of four million dollars.
