Labor Ministry Holds Meeting of Local Chiefs

The Ministry of Employment and Labor held a meeting of local labor chiefs across the nation on Monday morning.
 
Vice Labor Minister Yi Sung-ki, who chaired the meeting of chiefs of the ministry’s 47 local labor offices, called for efforts to realize the government’s labor policy of pursuing shared growth.
 
Yi stressed that establishing a safety net in the job market and securing the public trust is the top priority.
 
The vice minister asked the labor chiefs to properly implement the recently raised minimum wage in line with the policy of pursuing a society without gaps, adding the government will seek support measures to ease the burden on small businesses.
 
He also called for efforts to implement the government’s plan to convert nonregular workers in the public sector to permanent employees. 
 
The ministry arranged the meeting to share the Moon Jae-in government’s administrative philosophy in relation to its 100 policy goals and to quickly implement labor-related policy tasks.
