The parliamentary committee overseeing the hearing of the nominee for Health and Welfare Minister has cleared the way for his appointment on Friday.
 
Park Neung-hoo, a social welfare professor at Kyonggi University is set to be officially appointed by President Moon Jae-in.
 
But the hearing report did contain mixed opinions on the legitimacy of his appointment including controversy regarding tax evasion and plagiarism allegations.
 
Previously at the hearing, nominee Park vowed to address the country's low birthrate and enhance medical and other services for those in the low-income bracket.
