The most visited tourist destination in South Korea is amusement park Everland in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute on Wednesday, Everland attracted six-point-96 million visitors from home and abroad last year, maintaining the top place for the second straight year. The number of visitors, however, decreased by six-point-two percent from a year ago.
Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul came in second with six-point-02 million visitors, posting an on-year growth of 18-point-nine percent.
KINTEX exhibition hall in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province ranked third with five-point-86 million visitors, while the wetlands of Suncheon Bay in South Jeolla Province placed fourth.
Imjingak, a park near the inter-Korean border in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, which ranked second in 2014 and 2015, slipped to fifth.
