The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) again hit a new high on Monday.
 
KOSPI surged ten-point-47 points, or point-43 percent, to close the day at two-thousand-425-point-10, breaking the previous high posted just last Friday.

The index began trading at two-thousand-427-point-76, or 13-point-13 points or point-54 percent higher than last Friday. At one point during the day, the index surged to two-thousand-430-point-one.

Meanwhile, the tech-heavy KOSDAQ also climbed, adding five-point-78 points or point-88 percent. It closed the day at 659-point-89.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened five won against the dollar, closing at one-thousand-128-point-three won.
