S. Korea's Exports Up 38% in First 10 Days of July

South Korea’s exports posted a sharp increase in the first ten days of July on robust exports of ships and chips.
 
According to data by the Korea Customs Service on Tuesday, the country’s shipments marked 14-point-three billion U.S. dollars in the first ten days of the month, up 38-point-five percent on-year.
 
Exports of ships and semiconductors soared 574 percent and 50 percent on-year, respectively, during the cited period. However, exports of vehicles and wireless communication devices decreased point-two percent and 23-point-seven percent, each.
 
The country’s exports increased 13-point-seven percent last month, posting growth for the eighth consecutive month since November last year.
 
It is the first time exports posted growth for eight straight months since December 2011.
