Pyongyang Calls for Shift in Seoul’s N. Korea Policy

North Korea has urged South Korea to end its dependence on foreign forces and approach inter-Korean issues with a policy that places Korean people at its center.

The North’s Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea delivered the call in a statement on Tuesday, which was issued to mark the 45th anniversary of the July fourth joint statement.

The statement said that any power change in South Korea guarantees no improvement in inter-Korean relations if the South remains dependent and submissive toward the U.S.

The North Korean organization criticized South Korean President Moon Jae-in for succumbing to the U.S. and abusing his power granted by the people through candlelight rallies. It urged Moon to keep in mind the lessons of history that traitors following and yielding to foreign forces were never tolerated.
