The Export-Import Bank of Korea said Friday that it carried out a workshop with the World Bank in Uganda this week.
The bank said that the World Bank-EDCF-Uganda Joint Workshop on Agricultural Development ran from Monday to Thursday at Uganda's capital of Kampala. EDCF refers to the Export-Import Bank's Economic Development Cooperation Fund.
The bank said that the event saw the participation of some 100 people, including officials from South Korean agricultural institutes and the World Bank as well as officials charged with Uganda’s agriculture policies.
The bank said the workshop was centered on sharing South Korea’s experience in agricultural development and on ways to pursue Uganda’s agricultural development program that is based on information and communication technology.
Export-Import Bank of Korea President Choi Jong-Ku said in keynote speech at the workshop that the bank and the World Bank will successfully conclude the agricultural development program in Uganda and seek to expand the innovative business model across Africa afterwards.
