The expressway linking the capital Seoul to the city of Yangyang on the east coast has been completed and will open to the public on Friday.
 
Barring traffic jams, Seoulites will now be able to reach the east coast in just an hour and a half.
 
Construction for the expressway began in 2004. Slightly more than half of the 150-kilometer stretch was completed in 2009 and has been open. The new road cuts around 25 kilometers of detour.
