KOSPI Renews Record High, Surpasses 2,400 During Day's Trading

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) renewed its record high for the second time this week, while also hitting a new intraday record of over 24-hundred points.

KOSPI on Thursday added 13-point-10 points, or point-55 percent, to close the day at two-thousand-395-point-66.

These milestones come exactly 50 days after the index topped 23-hundred for the first time during day trading on May tenth. It's also 65 days after the two thousand-200 mark was surpassed on April 26th.

The bullish rally was led by overnight gains on the New York Stock Exchange and net buying of domestic shares by both foreign and institutional investors.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining two-point-11 points or point-32 percent. It closed the day at 668.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened two-point-nine won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-141-point-one won.
