S. Korea’s Cosmetics Trade Surplus Tops 3 Tln Won in 2016

South Korea’s cosmetics industry posted a trade surplus of over three trillion won last year.
 
According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on Tuesday, the nation’s trade surplus in the cosmetics sector grew steeply from 851 billion won in 2014 to more than three-point-one trillion won last year. South Korea’s cosmetics trade balance swung to a surplus in 2012 for the first time.
 
In detail, exports of cosmetics surged 65-point-six percent from two-point-nine trillion won in 2015 to four-point-85 trillion won last year.
 
China is the largest importer of South Korean cosmetics products, followed by Hong Kong, the U.S. and Japan.
