KOSPI Hits Record High at 2,388.66

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) renewed its all-time high on Monday, gaining ten-point-06 points, or point-42 percent, during the day's trading.

The increase was led by gains in big-cap stocks, such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix on expectations for strong second-quarter results. A rebound in oil prices also gave support, with KOSPI closing the day at two-thousand-388-point-66.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ fell slightly, losing point-57 point or point-09 percent. It closed the day at 668-point-36.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened one-point-seven won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-137-point-one won.
