S. Korea's Service Deficit with US Rises to Record High

South Korea’s service balance deficit with the U.S. has risen to a record high level.

The Bank of Korea(BOK) estimated on Tuesday that South Korea posted a 14-point-28 billion dollars’ worth deficit in the trade of services with the U.S. last year, up from a 14-point-09-billion-dollar deficit in 2015.

It is the country’s biggest services balance deficit with the world’s largest economy since the Korean central bank began compiling related data in 1998.

It is also the second consecutive year South Korea’s service trade deficit with the U.S. increased from a year earlier.
