S. Korea's Producer Prices Down for Third Straight Month in May

South Korea’s producer prices dropped for the third straight month in May due to a decrease in oil prices.

According to the Bank of Korea(BOK) on Monday, the producer price index reached 102-point-26 last month, down two tenths of a percent from a month earlier.

The index fell for three consecutive months since February when it marked 102-point-70.

Prices of coal and petroleum products slipped three-point-six percent last month, while egg prices more than doubled on-year due to the outbreak of avian influenza. Chicken prices also jumped about 70 percent.
