No Fuel Surcharge for Int'l Flights in July

Fuel surcharges on air fare will continue to be zero for international flights and 22-hundred won, or just under two dollars, for domestic flights in July.

The airline industry including domestic flagship carriers Korean Air and Asiana Airlines said Friday the fuel surcharge level for July is based upon the average price of Singaporean aircraft fuel between May 16th and June 15th.

Sources note this price stands at 59-point-98 dollars per barrel, or 142-point-82 cents a gallon, which qualifies for level zero in the fuel surcharge index table.

A surcharge is levied in phases when this cost is over 150 cents a gallon.

For the month of July, there will be no fuel surcharges added to international air tickets issued in South Korea by a domestic airline, regardless of the departure date.
