The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Monday fell sharply from its previous
record-breaking high closing figure.
KOSPI lost 23-point-82 points, or one percent, to close at two-thousand-357-point-87.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ was also down, losing nine-point-29 points or one-point-38 percent. It closed the day at 664-point-86.
On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened four-point-one won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-127-point-three won.
