The business sector has expressed support for President Moon Jae-in’s remark that creating jobs is the most imperative task at hand.
In a speech before the National Assembly on Monday, Moon said creating good jobs is most urgent,calling for parliament's swift passage of an eleven-trillion won supplementary budget.
The Korea Employers Federation said in a statement that it agrees with the president’s view that creating employment is the economy’s most urgent task.
The Federation of Korean Industries’ Vice Chairman Kwon Tae-shin said he strongly agrees with the content of Moon’s speech and positively assessed the government’s extra budget plan which focuses on sparking job growth.
An official of the Korea International Trade Association said that amid a polarization of the labor market and the fourth Industrial Revolution, there are very high expectations for the new government’s policy on creating jobs.
The official said the association positively regards the president’s pledge to exert best efforts to generate jobs and his call for parliamentary cooperation on the matter.
