South Korea's benchmark stock index renewed its all time high on the back of active buying by foreigners and institutions.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Friday hit two-thousand-381-point-69, adding 18-point-12 points, or point-77 percent.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ added four-point-18 points or point-62 percent to close at 674-point-15, marking its eight consecutive session on the rise. 

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened one-point-one won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-123-point-two won.
