Deputy PM Nominee Priortizes Job Growth

Deputy prime minister and finance minister nominee Kim Dong-yeon says his top priority will be placed on creating jobs and improving the nation's human resources and labor productivity.

In his parliamentary confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Kim introduced his plans for "people-centered" economic policies.

While noting that the Korean economy faces growth without employment, income polarization, a falling birthrate and an aging population, the nominee said that people-priority will be key to his investment, fair trade and growth strategies.

Kim said sustainable people-centered economic growth is possible by expanding the nation's growth potential through job growth and reduced wealth inequality.
