KITA to Send Economic Mission to US

The Korea International Trade Association(KITA) plans to send its first business delegation to the United States since the Trump administration took office.

KITA said Friday a delegation on economic exchange led by its chairman Kim In-ho will visit Washington and New York from June sixth to the eleventh.

The visit will focus on economic cooperation more than trade and investment in line with the Trump administration's protectionist stance.

The ten-member team includes CEOs of KITA member firms and think tank officials.

Up until last year, KITA's delegation dispatch was geared toward attracting investment. But this year, the delegates will meet with influential figures and opinion leaders in New York and Washington to promote the importance of the two countries' economic cooperation.
