Over 8,000ha of Farmland Suffers Hail Damage

More than eight-thousand hectares of farmland have been damaged due to hail throughout the nation earlier this week.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on Friday that between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 6 p.m. Thursday, 25 counties in seven cities and provinces witnessed hail damage.

As of 8 p.m. Thursday, a total of eight-thousand-31 hectares of farmland were estimated to have suffered damage.

Roughly four-thousand-700 hectares of land that grow fruit trees suffered the most, particularly apple trees.

The ministry will carry out a thorough inspection on hail damage until the middle of this month and will take measures so that restoration expenses can be provided by the month’s end.
