KOSPI Hits Record High of 2311.74

After breaking the two-thousand-300 threshold on Monday, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) continued to climb and broke its all-time high on Tuesday. 

The KOSPI rose seven-point-71 points, or point-33 percent, on the back of purchases by institutions to close at two-thousand-311-point-74, beating its record from the previous day. 
 
At one point during trading, the index surged to two-thousand-326-point-57, also an all-time intraday high. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose two-point-11 points, or point-33 percent, to close at 644-point-73.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened five-point-six won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-124-point-two won.
