South Korean tech giant Naver has been selected as last year’s best business performer among the nation’s top 500 companies.
Local business information provider CEO Score said that Naver was given high scores in all eight categories, including business performance, investment, management transparency, job creation, global competitiveness and gender equality.
In particular, the nation’s top portal and search engine ranked first in the section of contribution to society.
CJ Cheiljedang came in second overall by receiving high scores in social contribution, investment and gender equality.
Despite its good marks in global competitiveness, transparent and sound management, Samsung Electronics finished third due to job cuts in a large-scale business shakeup last year.
Other companies on the top-ten list include LG Household and Health Care, Amore Pacific, LG Chem, KT&G, Poongsan, Green Cross and SK Hynix.
