N. Korea to Send Taekwondo Demonstration Team to S. Korea

South Korea’s World Taekwondo Federation(WTF) says North Korea will send a demonstration team to the 2017 WTF World Championships that will open late next month in South Korea.

The South Korea-led Taekwondo governing body said Monday that the president of the North Korea-led International Taekwondo Federation(ITF), Ri Yong-son, informed the WTF last Friday that the federation accepts an invitation for its participation in next month’s championships. The invitation was extended by WTF Chairman Choue Chung-won on May tenth.

According to the WTF, the ITF’s 34-member delegation will arrive in Seoul on June 23rd via Beijing and will leave South Korea on July first.

The 2017 WTF World Championships will open in Muju, North Jeolla Province on June 24th and will run through June 30th.
