South Korea’s exports are likely to post growth for seven straight months.
According to data from the Korea Customs Service on Sunday, the country’s exports reached 25-point-four billion U.S. dollars during the first 20 days of this month, up three-point-four percent from the same period last year.
Exports increased 24-point-one percent last month, posting growth for the sixth consecutive month since November last year. The country exported 51 billion dollars last month, which is the second largest figure since October 2014, showing a clear sign of recovery.
If the current pace continues, the country’s exports are expected to post growth for seven straight months, which would be the first since December 2011.
The daily average export amount marked two-point-04 billion dollars during the cited period, up eleven-point-six percent year-on-year.
Semiconductors and petroleum products lead the growth, while exports of auto parts and wireless communication devices decreased compared to last year.
