The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) started strong on Monday, boosting expectations that it will renew its all-time high again.

As of 10:26 a.m. the index was being traded at two-thousand-252-point-96 points, or eleven-point-72 higher than Thursday’s all time closing high of two-thousand-241-point-24.

The market reopened on Monday at two-thousand-245-point-61 following Children’s Day holiday on Friday.

The KOSPI rally was affected by the victory of Emmanuel Macron in the French presidential election on Sunday over far-right nationalist Marine Le Pen as well as the improved employment records in the U.S. and a surge in international oil prices.
