Finance Minister Yoo Il-ho says it may be difficult to manage prices of petroleum and agricultural products this year, citing a rise in global oil prices and supply shocks due to avian influenza.

He spoke at an award ceremony Tuesday for public officials involved in keeping prices stable last year.

The government awarded a total of 18 officials in recognition of their works in managing supply and demand of farm products, promoting competition in the monopolistic market and monitoring the market.
