Gov't to Add 84,000 Jobs in New Industries in 2017

The government said it will create 84-thousand jobs this year in 20 new industrial areas related to energy and software.
 
The related ministries’ annual job-creation projects, compiled by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, were reported to a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
 
Under the plan, the government will create three-thousand-700 jobs in seven new industries, including self-driving cars, drones and zero-energy construction.
 
Energy-related new industries fostered by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will create four-thousand-400 jobs, while two-thousand-800 jobs will be added to fields deemed to be the country’s new growth engines, such as smart cars and robot and drone research and development.
 
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning said it will create one-thousand jobs by making a market for software-related new industries.
 
The Ministry of Health and Welfare said it will create 40-thousand-900 jobs in elderly foster care services, while the Ministry of Environment vows to create one-thousand-200 jobs by fostering environment-related companies.
