Medical Hallyu Unfazed Drawing 364,000 Patients in 2016

Over 360-thousand foreign patients visited South Korea for treatment last year.
 
Seoul's Health and Welfare Ministry said Thursday the number of foreign patients rose 23 percent last year from 2015 to approximately 364-thousand. Their cumulative number since 2009 stands at over one-point-five million.
 
By country, patients from China accounted for the most at 35 percent, followed by the U.S. at over 13 percent and Japan at seven percent. Patients from Russia and Kazakhstan followed.
 
By medical area, general internal medicine accounted for 20 percent, followed by plastic surgery at eleven-point-three percent and dermatology at just over eleven percent. Over nine percent of patients visited Korea to receive health checkups.
