S. Korea's Exports Grow 28.4% in 1st 20 Days of April

South Korea’s exports are on track to posting a growth for the sixth consecutive month.
 
According to the Korea Customs Service on Friday, the country’s exports stood at 30-point-four billion dollars for the first 20 days of the month, up 28-point-four percent from the same period a year earlier.
 
The exports grew 13-point-six percent last month from a year earlier, marking the first time the exports increased for a fifth straight month since December of 2011.
 
By item, the exports of ships jumped 131-point-seven percent, while exports of semiconductors went up 52-point-six percent. The exports of cars and petroleum products also increased 25-point-eight percent and 19-point-one percent, respectively.
 
On the other hand, the outbound shipments of car parts and electronic home appliances declined by zero-point-two percent and one-point-six percent, respectively.
 
By destination, the exports to the European Union grew two-fold, followed by exports to Vietnam at 67-point-two percent, China at 13-point-nine percent and the U.S. at 13-point-four percent.
