S. Korea Urges N. Korea to Respond to Global Pressure

South Korea has urged North Korea to respond to increased pressure from the international community.

A Unification Ministry official on Tuesday said during a news briefing that it’s time for Pyongyang to react to heightened pressure from the global community.

The official warned that things could worsen unless the North properly reacts, citing reports that China may cut off oil supplies to North Korea.

As for “proper responses by North Korea,” the official said that the regime could halt provocations and missile launches for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

The official expected that pressure against the North will further increase unless it shows a change in its attitude, noting Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn and U.S. Vice President Mike Pence said that all options are on the table.
