Exports to China Rise Despite THAAD Friction

South Korean exports to China are reported to have risen despite the diplomatic friction over Seoul's decision to deploy the U.S. THAAD battery and the ensuing trade retaliation by the Chinese government.

According to the Chinese customs office on Friday, South Korean exports to China in March amounted to 14-point-25 billion dollars, up by over seven-point-three percent from the same time last year.

While South Korean exports continued their five month rise, Chinese exports to South Korea also rose 13-point-seven percent on year in March to nine-point-three billion dollars.

The improved trade figures came despite delayed customs clearance and products boycotts in China against South Korean products over Seoul's decision to house the U.S. missile interceptors.
