Museum on N. Korean Human Rights Conditions to be Built

The Unification Ministry has announced that it will open a museum revealing the dire human rights conditions in North Korea by 2019.

The ministry said Friday that it is looking for a suitable site and working on plans regarding the composition of the facility and the selection of exhibits to be on display.

The museum will feature records, photographs and testimonies on crimes against humanity by the North Korean regime. It will also introduce South Korean and international programs to improve human rights conditions in the North.

A ministry official explained that establishing the museum is part of the ministry’s efforts to raise awareness about human rights violations in the North in accordance with the newly implemented North Korean Human Rights Act.
