BOK Raises Growth Forecast to 2.6%

The Bank of Korea(BOK) raised its 2017 growth forecast for South Korea from two-point-five percent to two-point-six percent.

The forecast comes as exports have increased for five months in a row and investment has been expanding.

At a media briefing following the BOK’s monetary policy meeting on Thursday, central bank chief Lee Ju-yeol said the projection was revised in consideration of changes in domestic and international factors.

The bank also raised its consumer price growth estimate for this year from one-point-eight percent to one-point-nine percent.

At the meeting, the BOK kept the benchmark interest rate at one-point-25 percent for the tenth consecutive month.
