Korea Tour Card, a rechargeable transportation card jointly developed by the government and Korea Smart Card Company, is set to expand its benefits following its successful run from January.
The Visit Korea Committee, an affiliated body of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the travel data collected from the transportation card will be used to come up with a wider range of tour programs for visitors to South Korea.
The committee has confirmed partnerships with 25 companies, mostly in shopping and entertainment fields, to offer discounts and other benefits to the special card holders. They plan to expand partnerships to other businesses, particularly those related to art and culture.
The rechargeable transportation card is available at vending machines located inside the Seoul Metro, the Airport Railroad Express and convenience stores in Incheon International Airport for four-thousand won.
