S. Korea to Build Smart City in Kuwait

A South Korean consortium will lead a massive city construction project in Kuwait.

The government said Monday that Korea Land and Housing Corporation(LH) signed a 39 million dollar contract with Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare to manage the master plan for the construction.

Located some 30 kilometers west of Kuwait City, South Saad Al-Abdullah New City will measure 64 square kilometers in size to accommodate up to 40-thousand households.

Consisting of LH officials and city planning experts, the South Korean consortium will conduct a feasibility study and draw up the entire framework of the new city.

The smart city project is predicted to cost over ten billion U.S. dollars to complete.
