Global Cybersecurity Conference to be Held in Seoul

Seoul is gearing up to host an international cyberspace security conference on Tuesday amid the growing threat of North Korea’s cyber attacks.

The Foreign Ministry on Monday said it is holding the Inter-Regional Conference on Cyber/ICT Security jointly with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe(OSCE).

During the two-day event, experts and policy-makers will discuss regional and global cooperation on cyber security.

Second Vice Foreign Minister Ahn Chong-ghee will deliver the opening address. He'll stress the need for cooperation between Asia and Europe and call for global attention to the seriousness of the North's provocations in cyberspace.

The meeting comes amid heightened concern over Pyongyang's increasing cyber attack capabilities following its hacking of the Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Company and Sony Pictures.
