S. Korea's Imports of US Products Saw Largest Growth in 3 Years

South Korea’s imports of U.S. products posted the highest growth in three years in February.

According to the Korea International Trade Association(KITA) on Monday, South Korea imported three-point-eight billion dollars worth of products from the U.S. last month, up nearly 23 percent compared to the same period last year.

The growth in the figure was the highest to be recorded since February 2014 when imports climbed some 24 percent.

Meanwhile, South Korea exported some five-point-three billion dollars worth of products to the U.S. last month, up only one-point-seven percent from the same period last year. In January and last December, such exports posted minus growth.

South Korea’s trade surplus with the U.S. in the first two months of this year was estimated to stand at two-and-a-half billion dollars.
