Finance Minister Yoo Il-ho says the recent strength in the Korean won isn't steep enough to be problematic.
 
Yoo told reporters following a meeting of economy-related ministers on Wednesday that as long as volatility isn't too big, he doesn't deem the strength in the won itself as a big problem.
 
The dollar hovered above one-thousand-150 won at the beginning of this month on expectations of a rate hike in the U.S. However, it fell below one-thousand-120 won before picking up slightly after the Federal Reserve said last Wednesday that it will raise interest rates gradually.
 
On Wednesday, the value of the local currency fell three won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-123-point-three won.
