Hyundai Heavy Wins Order to Build 4 Tankers for Russia

Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a 200-million dollar deal to build four tankers for Russia.

The shipbuilder said on Sunday that it recently secured an order from state-run Russian shipping company Sovcomflot to build four eco-friendly tankers that run on liquefied natural gas.

The 114-thousand deadweight ton vessels will be constructed by Hyundai’s affiliate Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and will be delivered to Russia from the third quarter of 2018 to the first quarter of 2019.

The ships will be used by global energy company Shell to transport Russian crude oil.
