South Korea’s per capita gross domestic product(GDP) increased 29 percent over the past decade, while South Korean’s quality of life increased 12 percent.
According to the data first compiled by Statistics Korea on Wednesday, the country’s comprehensive index on quality of life marked 111-point-eight in 2015, up eleven-point-eight percent from the base year 2006.
The country’s real GDP expanded 28-point-six percent over the period.
Among the 80 categories comprising the index, figures on education and safety jumped 24 and 22 percent, respectively, while income and spending increased 16-and-a-half percent.
Numbers related to social welfare, leisure, environment and social participation also contributed to overall growth in the quality of life index.
However, figures on health, housing and employment grew seven-point-two percent, five-point-two percent and three-point-two percent, respectively, compared to the eleven-point-eight percent growth of the index.
