S. Korea, US Held Major Exercise to Counter N. Korean WMDs in Feb.

South Korea and the U.S. are confirmed to have conducted a joint exercise last month to train in identifying and destroying North Korea's weapons of mass destruction(WMD) such as missiles and nuclear weapons.

The two sides' militaries formed a hypothetical special operations unit dubbed the Task Force Iron Rangers and held the Warrior Strike Five drill at a shooting range in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province from February 14th to 17th.

During the exercise, the allied forces conducted mock operations to locate and eliminate North Korea's WMD facilities as well as air assault infiltration into the enemy camp.

Some 400 soldiers, including over 200 South Korean forces, participated in the drill.
