US Levies Antidumping Duty on S. Korean Steel Product

The U.S. government has finalized antidumping tariffs of eight-point-four percent on a South Korean steel product, phosphor copper.

The Korea International Trade Association says that rate is more than double the three-point-eight percent determined in a previous ruling by the U.S. Commerce Department.

U.S. steelmaker Metallurgical Products filed a petition with U.S. trade officials last March, alleging Korean steel manufacturer Bongsan was exporting phosphor copper at a price lower than its sale price in South Korea.

South Korean exports of this steel to the U.S. recorded some three-point-six million dollars last year.
