Just three out of ten large companies in South Korea have established a recruitment plan for the first half of this year amid an economic slowdown and growing uncertainties at home and abroad.
Job portal JobKorea on Tuesday announced its recent survey results on the country’s top 500 companies.
According to the survey, 107, or 34-point-three percent, of 312 respondents said that they have a plan to recruit college graduates in the first half of this year.
Forty-four-point-six percent said they have no plans to hire new employees while 21 percent said they have not yet made recruitment plans.
By industry sector, 69 percent of companies in the electrical and electronics industry said they have a recruitment plan. The ratio for the auto industry and food industy was 54 percent and 46 percent, respectively. In the shipbuilding industry, only one company said they will hire new employees.
