Malaysian police say that they have identified five North Korean suspects involved in the killing of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s half brother Kim Jong-nam.

Malaysia's National Police Deputy Inspector-General of Police Noor Rashid Ibrahim said on Sunday during a news conference that five North Korean men involved in the case have been identified, including Ri Jong-chol who was arrested on Friday.

The deputy police chief said that the four North Korean men, except the arrested Ri, departed Malaysia on the day of the murder.

Malaysian police are reportedly pursuing three other North Koreans who are suspected to have been involved in the case.

The deputy national police chief said that the exact cause of Kim’s death has not been confirmed yet, adding the toxicology test is under way.

In addition, he effectively rejected North Korea’s request for Kim’s body, saying that Kim’s family has the prior claim to the body.

Kim Jong-nam, the eldest son of the late former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, was killed on Monday at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
