Ruling Party Unveils Support for Traditional Markets

The ruling Liberty Korea Party, formerly known as Saenuri, says it plans to invest nearly two trillion won in modernizing traditional markets.

The plan ranges from simple infrastructure improvements like the creation of parking spaces to lowering the burden of credit card fees for self-employed businesses with 300 to 500 million won in annual sales.

Liberty Korea interim chief In Myung-jin says the party will push to mandate two closed Sundays a month for large-scale shopping complexes that displace smaller markets.
