Anchor: President Donald Trump has promptly taken to Twitter to thank Samsung Electronics following media reports saying the South Korean tech giant is considering building a home appliance factory in the U.S. The move comes as the new president vowed to keep up the pressure on global companies to manufacture products and hire workers in America.

Report: Reuters reported Thursday that Samsung Electronics may build a factory for its home appliance business in the U.S.
While it hasn’t decided on how big of a budget it will allocate and where the plant will be located, Reuters said Samsung will continue to review the need for new investments in America.
President Donald Trump was quick to welcome the news. In a tweet, he thanked Samsung, adding "we would love to have you!"
The remarks come as Trump has been pressuring global companies to set up factories in the US and hire American workers or face huge tariffs.
He also revealed plans to renegotiate NAFTA and slap a 20 percent border tax on goods coming in from Mexico.

“It's been a catastrophe for our workers and jobs and companies they are leaving our country. I want to change it. I would like to speed it up if possible.”
Currently, South Korean tech giants Samsung and LG are ranked at number one and three in the U.S. home appliances market and produce most of their U.S.-bound products in Mexico.
Should Trump's border tax become a reality, the South Korean companies could face huge deficits in revenues.
LG has already said it is considering building a factory in the U.S. and will make a final decision in the first half of the year.
Last month, Hyundai Motor promised to invest three-point-one billion dollars in the U.S. over the next five years.
