Financial Services Commission(FSC) Chairman Yim Jong-yong has called on state-run financial agencies to offer as many jobs as possible for young people.
Yim delivered the request in a meeting with the heads of state-run financial institutions on Monday, saying that the government will again prioritize job creation this year.
He called on the financial agency chiefs to quickly proceed with their plans to hire approximately one-thousand new employees this year, which would be up 35 percent from last year.
While revealing a government plan to continue efforts to create quality jobs in the private sector by promoting Internet-based banks and fintech, he also asked financial institutions to support more business start-ups.
Yim revealed the FSC's three policy goals for this year: stabilizing the financial market, revitalizing the economy and improving the people’s livelihoods.
