Many parts of the nation, including the capital Seoul, woke up to heavy snow on Friday.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA), heavy snow advisories and warnings were issued in the Seoul metropolitan area, the Chungcheong Provinces, the southwestern part of Gangwon Province and inland regions of the Jeolla and Gyeongsang Provinces as of 7 a.m.

The KMA said snow will continue to fall in the Seoul metropolitan area and the central region until later in the morning. As snow clouds move toward the eastern part of the country, the snowfall will be concentrated in the mountainous regions of Gangwon Province and east coast areas in the afternoon.
The eastern Gangwon areas are forecast to get up to 20 more centimeters of snow throughout the day while the western Gangwon areas and northeast areas of North Gyeongsang will receive between three and eight centimeters more.
