Bank of Korea Keeps Key Rate at 1.25%

The Bank of Korea(BOK) has kept its key rate steady for the month of January at one-point-25 percent.

The central bank on Friday maintained its record low policy rate for the seventh consecutive month.

The decision came as the BOK is taking a wait-and-see approach amid the possibility of another rate hike in the U.S.

More rate hikes are expected by the U.S. Federal Reserve this year after it raised its rate by a quarter-of-a-percentage point to a target range of point-five to point-75 percent last month.
